PALM COAST, Fla. (CBS12) — A man attempted to evade arrest by hiding in the attic of his Palm Coast home.
The Flagler County Sheriff’s Office (FCSO) said on August 30, Michael Allison thought he could hide from deputies in his home on Piedmont Drive. According to deputies, he was wanted on a felony violation of probation warrant for unlawful possession of a controlled substance and driving with a suspended license.
Deputies said they sawAllison enter his home onPiedmont Drive, and knocked on the door and windows announcing themselves to Allison and why they were at the home. After knocking multiple times, the sheriff’s office said deputies entered the home in search of Allison.
After looking around, deputies learned that Allison was hiding in the attic. Deputies told Allison to come down, and he eventually did 30 minutes later — extremely dehydrated.
The 37-year-old was treated at a hospital and then taken to the county jail.
“This guy decided to try and hide in the attic, during a Florida summer. If you’re a criminal in Flagler County, there’s nowhere to hide from the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office,” said Sheriff Staly. “I hope he enjoyed his attic sauna but now he’s in the Green Roof Inn. I commend our deputies for talking him out of a hot attic peacefully before he hurt himself in the heat.”
